NASA Election for 2012 Executives!!

Hello Future NASA exec 2012,
Time is nigh for the really important elections, no not the national government political one, but NASA’s!

I know we are all wrapping up our year and it may not be at the forefront of your mind but all you need to do is follow these simple steps:

1) Decide which position you want to go for… follow this link for the constitution and job descriptions http://nasa.org.nz/wp-content/uploads/2011/09/Constitution2011.pdf
2) Email Kathy (secretary@nasa.org.nz) saying who you are, what you want and why you should have it by Monday 31st October.
3) NASA will combine candidates info and email this info out to all students.
4) An online CECIL test will be created for ALL YEARS to vote. Opening Friday 4th November and closing Friday 11th November

EASY! do it now!!!!

If there are positions that receive no candidates, the NASA executive in 2012 can either hold additional elections or appoint by executive consensus

Remember that being a UoA Nursing student puts you ahead of AUT, MIT and Unitech Nursing students, but a great CV with extra curricular involvement puts you ahead of your classmates!!

Get in quick, be smart. NASA is a small amount of your time but produces big results!

Word of advice: tell your class mates if you are running for a position, email them, text them, facebook them, twitter them, but save the planet and don’t poster them!

Political Panel Discussion

For the first time ever, NASA will be holding a political discussion panel at the University of Auckland. It will be on the 19th of October, 2011 from 1100hrs to 1300hrs in room B41, grafton campus.

Labour party MP Grant Robertson, National party MP Dr Jackie Blue and Green party MP Kevin Hague will be present to answer your questions.

Taupo Half Marathon

The Taupo half marathon is set along scenic lake Taupo, with over half of the 21.1 km run directly on the waterfront. NASA sent a team of four runners down to Taupo for the race on Sunday August 7th. With over 2,000 runners and walkers from around the country, the atmosphere was buzzing with anticipation, as for many this run marked a major achievement. Despite heavy rain and cold weather conditions for most of the run, the NASA team did brilliantly, all finishing the race within 2.5 hours. Special mention goes to Philippa Hyde and Melanie Tucker, who came in under 2 hours. It was an epic weekend overall and a great acheivement for the four runners from NASA.
(The runners were Philippa Hyde, Melanie Tucker, Julia Smith and Rebecca Couch).
